Birthday party attire.

These days most parties (ok, all) tend to be at a bar in Boston somewhere. I'm not saying I am not a fan but when you want to wear your highest heels its hard to walk in those cobblestone streets without breaking an ankle! Here are a few outfits I put together for a night out on the town!

Break a sweat & look cute doing it.

I'm a believer that if you look good it will help to build your self esteem. One of the most difficult places to have that confidence is the dreaded "gym". A few years ago I needed to revamp my gym getup from my boyfriends old T's and my umbros from high school. So here are a few staples that I currently own and are comfortable (especially the yoga pants), affordable and stylish....now get running!

Crossbody on a budget.

How many times are you out shopping with arm fulls of clothing and your shoulder is killing you because you have your usual " I can fit my life in here" bag on it? Or, you are out for the night, drink in hand ready to hit the dance floor but constricted because your bag  keeps slowly falling lower and lower down your arm prohibiting you to bust a move? Alas, a trendy, yet stylish bag that saves your arms for more doing and less, well, "not" doing. Here are a few options that are within reason. FYI- my "reasoning" when it comes to bags is spend the extra $50 - $100, it will last longer, and yes people know what  fake leather and imitations look like - you aren't fooling anyone honey! My pick is The Sak Convertable Clutch, great for everyday use!

The Sak:
Silverlake Leather Convertible Clutch - $139
Solana Drawstring $199

Kate Spade Gold Coast Lauralee - $265 - although very pricy this is great for a night out, dressy yet practical.
Piperlime -Orla Kiely Multi Scribble Stem Print Super Maxi Sling Bag - $178
This pattern is great and will go with almost anything!

What to wear to a semi-casual summer wedding?

I have been on the hunt for the perfect dress for a wedding in early July. It doesn't seem like it will be too fancy so therefore a slightly above the knee strapless or one strapped dress is the goal. I want something fun & stylish. I know its her day but who says I can't look good too?! I am loving the Rose Quartz dress from ModCloth, such cute details!

LuLu's - Bubble Dress $53
ModCloth (my new favorite site!)-1.  Rose Quartz Dress $69.99 2. English Seaside Dress $49.99 (with great shoes and accessories this dress is amazing!)

Akira- Black Label - $66.90 ( This just may be the one, the back is perfect!)

The evolution of boyfriend jeans

Ok, ok I admit I am slightly behind on this trend...at first I saw Katie Homes in these in cringed. No way would I be putting those on my body! But as months passed they started to slowly appeal to me. Not to mention there have been numerous variations that seem to work better for my body type... see below for the evolution of the jean.

Are we back in the 90's?! I tight-rolled my jeans in 5th grade and I would like it to stay that way...

Here is Rachel Bilson, improving slightly (hence no weird rolled bottoms going on) yet still not quite there for me...

Finally! Jessica Alba pulls it together with a more form fitting pair and a great roll at the bottom! Where to get your perfect pair? More to come!

The perfect ruffle tank

Ok, I admit I have a slight obsession with ruffles this year. To the point where I asked a friend if I should get a certain tank and she looked at me in horror and said, " Don't you have that or at least 5 others exactly like this one?" What's not to love? They make an old pair of jeans dressy and add a touch of romance! My go to  store for ruffles has been J. Crew  but I peeked around for some other great finds that won't dip into the weekend drink fund...

J.Crew - Perfect-fit Embellished corsage tank $39.50 (also available in a dark pewter which is stunning!)

J. Crew- Tissue Garland Tank - $45 (select colors on sale now - $34.99) I have this one in white but I am loving this Sepia color!
Target- Xhilaration Draped Ruffle tank - $17.99 ( tried this one on, adorable but make sure you go a size up!)

Old navy- Petal Trim Tank - $12.50 (shocker, I have this one too and the petals have a hint of shimmer that makes this tank look way more expensive than it is!)

Yellow screams summer :)

Bright colors are essential for summer and my go to color this summer is yellow. It goes with more than you would think, white, blues, greens, black, even purples! Check out some of these great finds below!

Piperlime- Bandolino Lareina - $49.99 ( on sale from $69)

Piperlime- Mystique 1644 - $140

DSW- Seychelles All Aboard Woven Leather Wedge - $59.95 ( just got these- so comfy!)

White skinny jeans

My mission before summer starts- find the perfect pair of cropped white jeans. How cute are these destroyed jeans Jessica is wearing? They are J Brand from last summer and if you can't afford the price tag, here are a few options, that honestly I think are much cuter! Since you know how styles fade so quickly!

American Eagle - Artist Crop Jean $39.50

J. Crew - Cropped matchstick jean in white denim $98

Forever 21- LIP Zipper Denims Jeans $24.80
